(Santa Fe, NM)—The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture (MIAC), in collaboration with the Museum of New Mexico Foundation (MNMF), presents the 15th annual Native Treasures Program, beginning April 7, 2019, concluding in the Spring of 2020. The collaboration will host a series of events in April and May. In addition to the Living Treasures exhibition and the Memorial Day Weekend Art Market, MIAC and MNMF will introduce the 2019 Living Treasures Artist Celebration. The celebration honors Mateo and Diego Romero as the 2019 Living Treasures artist award recipients for their contributions to indigenous arts and culture.

Living Treasures Native Treasures Exhibition Public Opening and Reception
Location: The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture
Time: 10:00am to 5:00pm with reception at 1:00pm
The Living Treasures Native Treasures exhibition opens at 10:00am to 5:00pm with a reception from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The 2019 Living Treasure artists, Mateo Romero, painter, and Diego Romero, potter will conduct a presentation at 2:00pm. Admission to the Museum is free and family friendly this day.

Living Treasures Artist Celebration
Location: The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture
Time: 5:30pm to 8:00pm
Tickets: $150 per person
MIAC and the MNMF invite the community to meet the Romero brothers as well as previous Living Treasures award recipient artists. A prominent Native American chef will offer a menu focusing on contemporary indigenous cuisine. Former Living Treasure honorees have donated new works for a live auction as guests bid on additional silent auction items throughout the evening.

Time: Saturday, 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, 9:00am to 4:00pm
Ticket Information: Saturday and Sunday: $20.00
Saturday only: $15.00
Sunday only: $10.00
Saturday early bird admission 9:00am to 10:00am, including full Saturday and Sunday admission: $40.00
Invited Native artists will sell jewelry, pottery, paintings, weavings and basketry, among other art items.
