Light up the night with the Lights of Gisewa
JEMEZ SPRINGS, NM - Celebrate New Mexico Traditions with NM Historic sites at the annual holiday event, Lights of Gisewa at Jemez Historic Site in Jemez Springs, New Mexico! Lights of Gisewa takes place over two evenings for the general public, December 8-9, 2023, from 5 until 9 p.m. Tickets are available online for purchase, $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for children. All affiliated Tribal members will be admitted free of charge.

(NEW) The event, which was known previously as Light Among the Ruins, takes on an exciting new opportunity with a Photographers Night on Thursday, December 7. Amateur and professional photographers get an exclusive preview to photograph the site with its hundreds of flickering farolitos without the crowd of thousands of annual visitors. As a kickoff to DCA Traditions events, this is a prime opportunity to get quality holiday stock photos and video. Tickets for this intimate opportunity are $100 per photographer and include parking at the Site and complimentary hot beverages.
Complimentary media passes are available upon request, especially for the new photographers night on December 7. It’s a great opportunity to take some choice shots for your holiday needs of farolitos in a picturesque setting.

📸 To maintain the safety and enjoyment of high attendance New Mexico Traditions events, tripods, camera equipment, and flash photography are only allowed during the Photographers Night on December 7.
🐕 While New Mexico Historic Sites generally welcomes well behaved pets on leashes, for the safety of pets and people animals are not allowed at this event, however, service animals are always welcome.
📍 Jemez Historic Site is located on NM Highway 4, just north of Jemez Springs, New Mexico. From Bernalillo, take Highway 550 north to San Isidro. Head north on Highway 4 through Jemez Springs.

New Mexico Historic Sites is a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs, under the leadership of the Board of Regents for the Museum of New Mexico. Programs and exhibits are generously supported by the Museum of New Mexico Foundation and its donors. The New Mexico Historic Sites system was established in 1931 by an Act for the Preservation of the Scientific Resources of New Mexico. The eight Historic Sites include Coronado, Fort Selden, Fort Stanton, Fort Sumner Historic Site/Bosque Redondo Memorial, Jemez, Lincoln, and Los Luceros.
