This week includes three outstanding programs:

The National Hispanic Cultural Center presents the online workshop “Beyond Teaching: Out-of-the-Box Writing Gigs and Getting Them Funded” via Zoom at11 a.m. on June 12. This workshop features three Latinx writers who generate income outside of their teaching gigs, collaborating with other writers and artists, working in journalism, providing professional writing services, and creating innovative projects that support their careers as writers. There will be time for questions and answers following the session. Cost is $20. Register for this event here

The New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum has a new arts and crafts series on Facebook. Fiber Fun in June features the creative artwork of the Museum’s graphic artist, Connie Anaya. These posts each Saturday feature instructions, a list of supplies, a photo of the finished work and a link to an instructional video.

It’s the return of science story time videos on the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science website. In the latest installment, museum educator Misty Carty reads from the children’s book, “Bee Dance,” written and illustrated by Rick Chrustowski. In this story, a honeybee searches for nectar, then returns to the hive to tell the other bees.

Here are other interesting programs from across the Department:

•   Check out the latest Trivia Tuesday on the New Mexico Museum of Art Instagram page. The theme is Gustave Baumann, in anticipation of the upcoming exhibition, “Go West Said a Small Voice: Gustave Baumann and Dreams of New Mexico.”

•   The Coronado Historic Site Facebook page features a series highlighting the native plants of and the Rio Grande Valley.
