New Mexico History Museum

Sculptor Juan Amadeo Sanchez carved this bulto of Nuestra Senora de la Luz in the late 1930s. It is one of more than 100 he completed as part of a program supported by the Federal Art Project. On display in the History Museum’s main exhibit, Telling New Mexico: Stories from Then and Now.
