Using one sheet of printmaking paper, students will decorate both sides using various painting and printing techniques. The instructor will discuss color choices using the color wheel, and color theory. In the afternoon, students will cut and fold the painted paper to create three accordion-fold books, then use cutting and punching tools to create interest and depth. Finally, students will sew in a 12-page booklet using a simple pamphlet stitch.
Students will take home their three books, plus a selection of mark-making tools for future use.
Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on, or bring an apron or large “painting shirt.”
There will be an hour break for lunch; lunch is not provided.
